POW! Thanet's 2021 festival opens on Friday 5th March at 5.30pm.

Over 600 people from Thanet and all over the country have already registered for their free ticket to the 4-day online live-streamed festival. The online line up includes live music, creative workshops, dance classes, panel discussions, intimate storytelling, and powerful films.

Over 100 artists, creatives and inspirational speakers feature in the festival, including many local people and young people, as well as partnerships with local organisations, community groups and school groups.

The full line up can be viewed on the POW! website at www.powthanet.com/festival2021, where anyone anywhere in the world can register for their free ticket to the online festival.

The festival also includes artworks displayed in 65 shop windows in Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate, which local people can visit in-person as a socially-distanced Covid-safe art exhibition experience.

Artistic Director Amy Redmond says, 'It was an incredible challenge to reimagine the festival to be Covid-safe, but we were determined to bring creativity and inspiration at a time when we need this boost more than ever. The arts industry has struggled in the last 12 months, so we were moved by how many artists and creatives were passionate about joining together with POW! for this year's festival.’

POW! festival happens every year in March. In 2020 the POW! team made the difficult decision to cancel the second half of the festival in order to keep everyone safe as Covid-19 appeared in the UK. One year later and undaunted the team have risen to the challenge for the 2021 festival to ensure that the show will go on. They have invested in new technology in the form of an online platform where the majority of events for 2021 will be streamed from Friday 5th to Monday 8th March.

To enter the online festival throughout the weekend, from Friday 5th to Monday 8th March, go to https://powfestival.streameventlive.com/ to log into the livestream from the comfort of your living room.
