Volunteer Opportunities for POW! 2019

Volunteering with POW! Thanet is a great opportunity to try out new skills, gain experience, make friends, enjoy being part of a team and most of all have fun while helping to make a great festival happen. We are mainly looking for volunteers to help out at events (taking tickets etc), invigilate exhibitions, helping to deliver brochures to venues around Thanet and helping with the festival evaluation. We offer support and training for all volunteers and we work hard to make sure you get the most out of your time volunteering for POW!

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2019 Festival, for both before and during the festival. You can find read more about volunteering for POW!, and make an application here

If you don’t yet know the dates you will be available over the Festival please just fill in as much of the form as possible and we can discuss dates nearer to the Festival. If you can only commit to a small about of time we will still be very happy to have your help.

POW! are looking for banner makers and walkers!

Would you or your group, like to make a banner and be part of our International Women's Day procession for the official launch this years POW! Festival? Are you part of a group that supports or celebrates women's issues, or, would you and a group of friends like to make a banner to celebrate inspirational women and be part of our procession?

This years POW! 2019 official launch will open with a procession of banners created by women from local organisations around Thanet and will be led by artist Jessica Voorsanger . On Friday 8th March, the different groups with their banners, will meet and will form a procession leading to Turner Contemporary. This will be the main focal point of the launch of POW! 2019.


Expressions of interest for POW 2019.

The deadline for expressions of interest in POW! 2019 has now passed. Thank you so much to everyone who has submitted proposals, we have received some amazing suggestions.

We are now working hard on the 2019 programme and over the coming weeks we will be in touch with all the artists who have sent expressions of interest.
