Freelance Festival Director
The POW! Board of Trustees is looking for a new Director to take on the management and programming of the festival. It is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and creative person to lead POW! into the next stage of its development.
Applicants will understand and passionately believe in POW!s overarching themes and have the vision to take the festival forward. They will be able to balance multiple priorities, form a management team and operate both collaboratively and independently whilst remaining highly efficient.
They should have extensive knowledge of the arts (music, visual arts, performance) and an eye for introducing challenging ideas into the programme. They will be adept at “thinking outside the box”.
The Festival is held annually over a number of days to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8th March. It is a platform showcasing a range of events across the 3 main towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs with the goals of encouraging community involvement in local arts and cultural activities. With three successful years behind it, POW! Thanet has developed an exciting programme of cultural diversity and artistic endeavour.
Applications for the position should be emailed to email@example.com and should include a cover letter containing a short explanation of what you could bring to the role, and what you hope to achieve in the role. Please also include a CV (3 pages maximum) to include all relevant employment experience with dates, relevant educational qualifications and training and details of two referees (who will only be contacted if you are called to interview).
Your response should provide examples of relevant experience from your work history.
Interviews will be held on Friday 25 January 2019 at Marine Studios, Albert Terrace, Margate CT9 1UJ.

Volunteer Opportunities for POW! 2019
Volunteering with POW! Thanet is a great opportunity to try out new skills, gain experience, make friends, enjoy being part of a team and most of all have fun while helping to make a great festival happen. We are mainly looking for volunteers to help out at events (taking tickets etc), invigilate exhibitions, helping to deliver brochures to venues around Thanet and helping with the festival evaluation. We offer support and training for all volunteers and we work hard to make sure you get the most out of your time volunteering for POW!

The deadline for expressions of interest in POW! 2019 has now passed. Thank you so much to everyone who has submitted proposals, we have received some amazing suggestions.
We are now working hard on the 2019 programme and over the coming weeks we will be in touch with all the artists who have sent expressions of interest.
