Black History through Art and Music

Project dates: October 2020 - ongoing

Inspired by Black History Month and progressing beyond it, POW!’s youth engagement lead Cynthia Lawrence-John has been leading a series of four workshops with Broadstairs College celebrating Black History through music, working with the Music department and the Arts and Visual communications department. Students are being supported to either create a radio show for Radio Margate, or design and create an album cover.

Sessions are currently being held on Zoom due to the pandemic, but this has not stopped the students being able to meet and be inspired by guest facilitator Paul Camo, Creative Director of Studio Camo, graphic and branding design company.
