Fancy Chance invites you aboard her debut solo show: a globe-trotting, time-travelling mini-spectacle, jetting from her humble origins as Korean refugee to darling of the London cabaret scene. In-flight entertainment includes gut-busting comedy, heart-breaking song and mind-bending film.
Flights of Fancy has been created by Veronica Thompson in collaboration with director Nathan Evans and supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Following a successful run at Soho Theatre and stop-offs at Rich Mix, Latitude and Brighton, it touches down in Margate on March 4th.
Fusing cabaret, live art and video, the show is by turns funny, moving and thought-provoking; touching on themes of identity, immigration and international relations, it relates a very personal story relating very directly to our times.
Fancy’s work incorporates burlesque, drag and circus. In 2009 she was crowned Alternative Miss World and in 2010 London's Top Tranny. She was also shortlisted for Best Alternative Performer in London Cabaret Awards 2013, has recently been collaborating on Carnesky’s Incredible Bleeding Woman.
